Thursday, October 18 2018 - The Student Hotel (TSH) today signed a purchase and realisation agreement with the Nieuw Delft project organisation. TSH also signed agreements with BAM and Bectro and got the green light to start building the eighth location of this unique concept in the Netherlands.

TSH Delft's distinctive design will incorporate 350 rooms and combine high-grade hotel facilities for quality short- and long-stays. The 13,500 m² hotel has a striking open front with views towards the station and the future Van Leeuwenhoekpark. The hotel has 1,600 m² of communal areas including reception space with lounge and games area, The Commons bar-restaurant , TSH Collab co-working area, teaching and study areas, laundry and fitness areas. An indoor bicycle park for The Student Hotel’s 'bike-sharing concept' completes the hotel.

Charlie MacGregor, TSH founder and CEO says “I have wanted to open TSH in Delft since I first moved to the Netherlands. With our European network and Complete Connected Community concept TSH connects students, researchers and entrepreneurs from Delft with other tech and design cities like Eindhoven, Toulouse, Berlin and Barcelona.”

Martina Huijsmans, alderman of the municipality of Delft added: "Our city attracts talent from all over the world. TSH responds to this and offers accommodation to (international) students in a hotel environment, with all the facilities that go with it. For Delft, TSH is an exceptionally valuable and welcome addition to the existing range of accommodation for students. The hybrid hotel concept offers many public functions which are ideal for anyone who wants to stay, study, dine, have a cup of coffee or hear a lecture in the heart of the station area.”

Gijs Leffers, project manager at BAM Bouw en Techniek - Projecten: "This is the fourth collaboration between BAM and TSH. Delft is my old student town so I am even more enthusiastic about this unique project that will be a valuable addition to Nieuw Delft.”

Jeep Heida, project leaderat Bectro said: "We have worked on all TSH buildings in the Netherlands to design and realise electrical and mechanical installations. For this building we will also design and build the 350 prefabricated bathrooms. TSH Delft will be equipped with a CHP installation and solar panels as part of the group's sustainability policy.”

TSH Delft is designed by KCAP Architects&Planners.

Construction is scheduled to start at the end of 2018. The hotel will be completed in the summer of 2020.
