Charlie MacGregor
Chief Executive Officer and FounderCharlie MacGregor founded The Social Hub in his twenties and today has his gaze firmly fixed on the future, guiding the company as it explores new territories and leads the way in the changing landscape of the community-based hospitality concept he conceived.
A born entrepreneur and charismatic leader, Charlie founded The Social Hub in 2003. His love of community and belief that customers deserve better started it all and remains the guiding force behind the company’s winning hybrid hospitality concept. With his instinctive drive, The Social Hub has grown to hold 23 assets – with 21 hubs open across Europe – and has raised more than €2 billion from investors, making Charlie a leading voice on the future of hospitality for industry publications and events around the world. Today, as he steers from the front, his focus has shifted to building one team, one community and one global brand. Beyond The Social Hub, Charlie focuses on his work improving refugee camps through the humanitarian crises NGO he founded in 2015, Movement on the Ground (MOTG). Their mission? To transform camps into campuses, offering refugees better opportunities and a better life. For Charlie, it’s one small step towards world peace. -
Marion Koopman
Chief Operations & Commercial OfficerA strong leader with a proven track record in company building, Marion brings a strategic and creative mindset to her role at The Social Hub, sharing the organisation’s ambition for growth and desire to make the world a better place.
As Chief Operations & Commercial Officer, Marion oversees the entire hospitality side of The Social Hub, including commercial, branding, digital technology and community activities. With two feet planted firmly on the ground, she leads strategic and operational changes to create meaningful experiences and stronger connections for guests. At heart, Marion’s a people person with a drive to develop team members and champion social change. -
Denis Montrelay
Chief Financial OfficerWith his trademark curiosity, optimism and energy, Denis Montrelay oversees all aspects of finance, legal, HR and real estate asset management as Executive Board Member & Chief Financial Officer of The Social Hub. In the 10 years since Denis’ joining, he has played a central role in the company’s growth not only by securing capital but also by building an international team of talent, fostering creativity and innovation while driving sustainable financial performance.
Prior to this, Denis held several senior roles in M&A, real estate development and asset management, refining his entrepreneurial mindset. Today, he leads an international and highly agile team which acts as the strategic business partner to multiple stakeholders in the business.
An early believer in hybrid hospitality, Denis is committed to driving a positive and sustainable transformation of the hospitality industry. -
Rienk Oosterhof
Chief Real Estate OfficerWith an instinct for all-things real estate, and a true passion for hybrid hospitality, Rienk Oosterhof is not only spearheading The Social Hub’s hypergrowth, but has proven himself to be an expert worth knowing.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Rienk Oosterhof has led some of the world’s biggest and boldest development projects, from football stadiums in South Africa to mega-hospitals in the Middle East. He joined The Social Hub in 2016 as Development Director and today holds the position of Chief Real Estate Officer and Executive Board Member, bringing a long list of qualifications and credentials to the role. As The Social Hub continues to skyrocket, Rienk keeps the engines fuelled by overseeing investment, development and construction. -
Joris Bartholomeus
Chief Food & Beverage OfficerPassionate about hospitality ever since he can remember, Joris Bartholomeus is Chief F&B Officer at The Social Hub. Drawing on over two decades of experience in the industry, he leads all initiatives in the category, elevating hybrid hospitality while doubling down on concepting and collaborations. A naturally empathetic leader, Joris strives to empower his team, fostering growth and helping them excel in their professional and personal journeys.
Prior to joining The Social Hub, Joris worked at some of the world’s leading hospitality companies like Sircle Collection, collaborating with world-renowned chefs to develop innovative concepts that raised the bar for guests.
In addition, Joris is founding an initiative that brings together culinary talent across The Netherlands to promote food consciousness and education on whole foods, responsible cooking, and efficient meal planning. On weekends, you can find him in the kitchen as a private chef, curating bespoke dining experiences. -
Djoeke Sprenger
Chief People OfficerA born people-person, Djoeke Sprenger has over 20 years’ experience in human resources, covering everything from recruitment and people operations, to HR business partnering and facilitating training. As Chief People Officer at The Social Hub, Djoeke brings a creative mindset and strong leadership skills to build an ever more inclusive culture that leaves no one behind, while ensuring team and business growth.
Prior to joining The Social Hub, Djoeke was head of People at ebike company VanMoof, where she designed and implemented innovative and inclusive policies and benefits, as well as successfully navigating the organisation through complex business challenges. Djoeke also got a sense for working in hospitality at Starbucks first. One of her proudest moments was building and hiring the first team for the unveiling of Starbucks’ Milan Roastery. Here, she was also involved in their campaign to hire 2500 refugees in their European coffee stores.
Mentoring holds a special place in Djoeke’s heart. In her spare time, she coaches university students and offers guidance to women just starting out in HR. -
Niels Sauvé
Chief Digital & Technology OfficerA digital dynamo with a knack for making things happen, Niels Sauve drives technological innovation and customer-centric success at The Social Hub as Chief Digital & Technology Officer.
With a background in digital product development, data strategy and digital marketing, Niels has always led the charge in an ever-changing digital environment. Formerly CEO of WPP’s Dynamic Creative Platform, he steered the company to unprecedented heights by developing cutting-edge online advertising technologies, accelerating global expansion and securing remarkable market share. At The Social Hub, he oversees the company’s ambitious technology transformation, enabling distinctive guest experiences and efficient space management while providing opportunities for meaningful connections. -
Frank Uffen
Advisor to the Executive Board of The Social Hub, and Chairman of the TSH Talent FoundationWith a keen eye for trends, a love of all things entrepreneurial and a passion for community building and social impact, Frank focuses on talent development, strategic partnerships, and expansion plans.
Since 2010, he has strengthened the company's community driven model and positioned it as a catalyst for urban regeneration and an asset to university cities. In 2024, he became Chairman of the TSH Talent Foundation, directing 1% of The Social Hub’s revenue to support changemakers through scholarships and the Better Society Academy. In 2011, he founded The Class Foundation, addressing Europe’s student housing crisis by hosting forums, conducting research, and promoting leadership in the student living sector. -
Joost van Beek
Chief Operating OfficerApplying more than two decades of high-level hospitality know-how, Joost aims to create the most seamless, exciting hybrid hospitality experience the world has ever seen at The Social Hub.
Pragmatic, optimistic and curious, Joost oversees the running of more than a dozen properties across Europe as Chief Operating Officer at The Social Hub. A firm believer in empowering his team, he works collaboratively to innovate and implement new methods and measures to usher in the hybrid hospitality experience of the future. Formerly Regional Operations Director at NH Hotel Group and General Manager at Jaz Amsterdam, Joost runs regular seminars on hosting etiquette and innovation in hospitality and has even founded his own tourism board. -
Desiree van der Veer
General CounselAs General Counsel, Desiree van der Veer continuously strives to improve how her brilliant team of legal experts can best support The Social Hub. With an insightful and pragmatic approach, Desiree has ultimate legal responsibility at The Social Hub, ensuring smooth sailing in all things law & compliance, while also fostering growth.
Desiree brings over a decade of experience to her role, excelling at navigating complex legal landscapes and drive innovative legal solutions. Prior to joining The Social Hub, she was an M&A lawyer at a leading independent Dutch law firm.
She is a firm believer that a happy team and good working relationships are just as important as optimised processes. -
Trix van der Vleuten
Chief Marketing OfficerA global business transformation specialist, Trix van der Vleuten brings nearly two decades of experience at international companies to her role as Chief Marketing Officer at The Social Hub. A collaborative and open leader, she heads up the Marketing & Performance team, enhancing the structure and strategic thinking of The Social Hub’s reputation and commercial activities, while prioritising social impact and industry leadership.
Prior to joining The Social Hub, Trix spearheaded innovative programs that reshaped brand perceptions and customer engagement at the likes of KFC, Versuni, KfraftHeinz, FrieslandCampina, SABMiller, and PepsiCo.
Beyond The Social Hub, Trix sits on the board of several organisations and is a frequent guest lecturer at prestigious institutions. She’s also a writer - her debut children’s book was hailed as one of the best Dutch books of the year by Harper’s Bazaar. -
Tasha Young
Chief Membership OfficerWith over two decades of leadership expertise in customer experience, membership product development, and retention strategy, Tasha Young brings a creative, strategic mindset to her role as Chief Membership Officer at The Social Hub. She leads the global growth of the company’s membership proposition, including coworking, events, education, and community strategy. A lover of challenges and community-building, Tasha shares the organisation’s passion for generating positive impact.
Previously Global Vice President of Member Experience & Retention at WeWork and Director of Experience & Retention at Virgin Active, Tasha played a key role in navigating hypergrowth through innovative CX solutions.
Passionate about community-building and social impact, she’s driven by a belief in the power of meaningful human connection. -
Amber Westerborg
Director of Sustainability & ImpactA driven thought leader in impact and sustainability, Amber Westerborg is responsible for The Social Hub’s ambitious green and social change agenda as Director of Sustainability and Impact.
With an optimistic outlook and naturally engaging manner, Amber has taken big strides in the world of corporate social responsibility (CSR) over a career packed with thoughtful strategies, altruistic agendas and life-changing initiatives. Formerly Customer Success Manager at GoodUp, she’s created CSR and engagement strategies for companies including Unilever, Deloitte, DLL and Accenture, and offered sustainable direction for innovative tech startups at ING. Today, she lends her credentials and expertise to The Social Hub, overseeing the group’s agenda on positive social impact and sustainability in the built environment.
