  • Charlie MacGregor
    Chief Executive Officer

    Charlie MacGregor founded The Social Hub, formerly The Student Hotel, in his twenties and today has his gaze firmly fixed on the future, guiding the company as it explores new territories and leads the way in the changing landscape of the community-based hospitality concept he conceived.

    A born entrepreneur and charismatic leader, Charlie founded The Social Hub in 2003. His love of community and belief that customers deserve better started it all and remains the guiding force behind the company’s winning hybrid hospitality concept. With his instinctive drive, The Social Hub has grown to hold 23 assets – with 16 hubs open across Europe – and has raised more than €2 billion from investors, making Charlie a leading voice on the future of hospitality for industry publications and events around the world. Today, as he steers from the front, his focus has shifted to building one team, one community and one global brand. Beyond The Social Hub, Charlie focuses on his work improving refugee camps through the humanitarian crises NGO he founded in 2015, Movement on the Ground (MOTG). Their mission? To transform camps into campuses, offering refugees better opportunities and a better life. For Charlie, it’s one small step towards world peace.

  • Marion Koopman
    Chief Operations & Commercial Officer

    A strong leader with a proven track record in company building, Marion brings a strategic and creative mindset to her role at The Social Hub, sharing the organisation’s ambition for growth and desire to make the world a better place.

    As Chief Operations & Commercial Officer, Marion oversees the entire hospitality side of The Social Hub, including commercial, branding, digital technology and community activities. With two feet planted firmly on the ground, she leads strategic and operational changes to create meaningful experiences and stronger connections for guests. At heart, Marion’s a people person with a drive to develop team members and champion social change.

  • Denis Montrelay
    Chief Financial Officer

    With inherent curiosity, enduring optimism and unshakeable pragmatism, Denis Montrelay oversees real estate acquisitions, corporate governance and financial health at The Social Hub as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board Member.

    A global citizen in the truest sense, Denis was raised in countries ranging from the Ivory Coast to Portugal before settling in The Netherlands. Half French, half German, he has relied on his instinctive understanding of cultures and natural curiosity throughout his career in analysis, investment and finance, which has seen him study at prestigious institutions like the ESCP Business School and hold job titles including Investment Director at Unibail-Rodamco. In his role as Chief Financial Officer at The Social Hub (TSH), Denis heads up a team of procurement, analysis and negotiation specialists, leading the company’s real estate acquisitions and corporate governance, while overseeing its financial health.

  • Rienk Oosterhof
    Chief Real Estate Officer

    With an instinct for all-things real estate, and a true passion for hybrid hospitality, Rienk Oosterhof is not only spearheading The Social Hub’s hypergrowth, but has proven himself to be an expert worth knowing.

    Never one to shy away from a challenge, Rienk Oosterhof has led some of the world’s biggest and boldest development projects, from football stadiums in South Africa to mega-hospitals in the Middle East. He joined The Social Hub (TSH) in 2016 as Development Director and today holds the position of Chief Real Estate Officer and Executive Board Member, bringing a long list of qualifications and credentials to the role. As TSH continues to skyrocket, Rienk keeps the engines fuelled by overseeing investment, development and construction. And, with ambitions to open 65 fully operational properties by 2026, he’s never been more excited about TSH’s potential.

  • Joost van Beek
    Chief Operating Officer

    Applying more than two decades of high-level hospitality know-how, Joost aims to create the most seamless, exciting hybrid hospitality experience the world has ever seen at The Social Hub.

    Pragmatic, optimistic and curious, Joost oversees the running of more than a dozen properties across Europe as Chief Operating Officer at The Social Hub. A firm believer in empowering his team, he works collaboratively to innovate and implement new methods and measures to usher in the hybrid hospitality experience of the future. Formerly Regional Operations Director at NH Hotel Group and General Manager at Jaz Amsterdam, Joost runs regular seminars on hosting etiquette and innovation in hospitality and has even founded his own tourism board.

  • Anaïse Crombé-Grare
    Chief Marketing Officer a.i.

    Bringing creativity, leadership and marketing disruption to her role as Chief Marketing Officer ad interim, Anaïse is the driving force behind The Social Hub’s commercial and marketing performance.

    After studying, working and living in Taiwan and Sweden, Anaïse began an impressive 14-year career at Accor, culminating in her appointment as Director Digital, Marketing and Communication at JO&JOE. Always driven by change and challenge, she brought her unique brand of vision, energy and leadership to The Social Hub in 2019, growing and managing the company’s digital platforms. From 2021 to 2023 she held the role of Director of Digital, leading the group’s complete digital experience and marketing strategies, before becoming the company’s Chief Marketing Officer ad interim in September 2023, focusing on the organisation’s integrated commercial and marketing strategy.

  • Mieke Veldhuis
    Chief People & Culture Officer

    A voice of authority on company culture, personal drivers and the power of brand values, Mieke is The Social Hub’s guiding light when it comes to staying conscious and purpose-led through hypergrowth.

    Mieke is a big believer in synchronicity. It’s what led her to The Social Hub (TSH) in 2019 and its what makes her intuitive, perceptive and empathetic in her role as Chief People and Culture Officer. It’s no small task, guiding a hybrid hospitality brand through an era of purpose-driven hypergrowth. But Mieke is used to a challenge, having been part of Bugaboo in its start-up days, holding the positions of Global Brand Director and Chief Commercial Officer over a 17-year engagement. Today, she channels her energy into keeping TSH conscious and mindful through brand purpose, culture and values.

  • Niels Sauve
    Chief Digital & Technology Officer

    A digital dynamo with a knack for making things happen, Niels Sauve drives technological innovation and customer-centric success at The Social Hub as Chief Digital & Technology Officer.

    With a background in digital product development, data strategy and digital marketing, Niels has always led the charge in an ever-changing digital environment. Formerly CEO of WPP’s Dynamic Creative Platform, he steered the company to unprecedented heights by developing cutting-edge online advertising technologies, accelerating global expansion and securing remarkable market share. At The Social Hub, he oversees the company’s ambitious technology transformation, enabling distinctive guest experiences and efficient space management while providing opportunities for meaningful connections.

  • Frank Uffen
    Managing Director of Community & Partnerships

    With a keen eye for trends, a love of all things entrepreneurial and a natural flair for public speaking, Frank Uffen is responsible for creating The Social Hub’s thriving community and partnership strategy.

    Focused on urban development forecasting in the live, learn, work and travel spaces, Frank builds partnerships through strategy. For more than a decade, he’s been an instrumental resource for the likes of SXSW EDU, INREV, EAIE and MIPIM, and has been leading the charge to connect communities at The Social Hub since 2011. As Managing Director of Community and Partnerships, Frank drives all international relationships, positioning the company as a leading example of the community-based business model. And he does it all while running his Amsterdam-based non-profit think tank, The Class Foundation.

  • Jesje de Stoppelaar
    General Counsel

    Creative thinker Jesje de Stoppelaar isn’t afraid to shake things up as she continuously looks to improve how her team of legal experts can best support The Social Hub in her role as General Counsel.

    Fun-loving, insightful and business minded, Jesje has ultimate legal responsibility at The Social Hub, ensuring everything the company does is compliant and the group acts within the law. She knows that a brilliant legal team needs to be welcoming and approachable, especially when others in the company must trust its advice, believing a happy team and good working relationships are just as important as optimised processes. Above all, Jesje helps make the best decisions to mitigate risks and cater for sustainable growth.

  • Amber Westerborg
    Director of Sustainability & Impact

    A driven thought leader in impact and sustainability, Amber Westerborg is responsible for The Social Hub’s ambitious green and social change agenda as Director of Sustainability and Impact.

    With an optimistic outlook and naturally engaging manner, Amber has taken big strides in the world of corporate social responsibility (CSR) over a career packed with thoughtful strategies, altruistic agendas and life-changing initiatives. Formerly Customer Success Manager at GoodUp, she’s created CSR and engagement strategies for companies including Unilever, Deloitte, DLL and Accenture, and offered sustainable direction for innovative tech startups at ING. Today, she lends her credentials and expertise to The Social Hub, overseeing the group’s agenda on positive social impact and sustainability in the built environment.
